My first attempt at watercolour was a medium success. I think I relied too much on water, and used too thin of paper, so my pieces lacked some definition. I was going for subtle, airy and ethereal for my tulip field (see close up below) which in some ways I achieved. Going forward I would start with more light washes and then build towards definition. I think part of the problem too is my impatience, something I need to calm when I attempt watercolour in the future.
